If you are interested in joining the Monroe Bank & Trust Team, the steps below will walk you thru the recruitment process.

  1. Search for Positions: We post available positions online on our Monroe Bank & Trust website/Careers. You can simply double-click on the Link under the Current Career Opportunities tab, to view open positions.
  2. Identify a Position of Interest: View Job Posting – If there is a position available that you are interested in applying for you can double click on that position title and you will be taken to the application for the position.
  3. Complete an Online Application: Upon completion of the application, candidates will receive an email at the email address provided, confirming receipt of their application.
  4. Resume Review: All applicant’s resumes will be reviewed by a member of the HR Team.

What to Expect

Type of Interview

If you are selected as a candidate for a phone and/or an in person interview, you will be contacted to coordinate schedules and confirm an interview date and time.

Monroe Bank & Trust utilizes a Structured Interview Process. A structured interview is a method used to measure job related competencies of a candidate, specific to the position they are applying for. The questions are inquisitive of past behavior experiences and proposed behavior in a hypothetical situation. Structured interviews provide candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, proficiency, and abilities they have developed through their career.

Number of Interviews

Depending on the position for which you applied, there may be more than one in person interview.

Evaluation Criteria

All candidates are evaluated based on knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions of the position for which they applied.

Additional Screening

Credit Report- If a candidate is interviewed for the position in which they applied and are selected to move forward in the hiring process, Monroe Bank & Trust will request a Credit Report on their behalf.

Teller Vision Simulation Screening – If a candidate applied for a Customer Service Representative position, and is selected to move forward in the hiring process, they will be asked to participate in a Teller Vision Simulation Screening. The screening takes approximately one hour to complete. This is only applicable to Customer Service Representative position.

Job References-Upon completion of the Credit Report, you will be asked to provide Job References, if you are selected to move forward in the hiring process. The references will be contacted and asked questions specific to the assessments of prior work experience, performance and overall qualifications.

Employment Verification- In addition to the request for Job References , we will request Employment verification’s from previous employers.

Criminal Background Check – All job offers extended by Monroe Bank & Trust are contingent upon a Criminal Background check.

Selection Process


If the applicant is not selected for an interview, once the position has been filled, all candidates will be contacted either via phone or email.
