Green Apple Awards

Recognizing Financial Literacy Efforts

Monroe Bank & Trust (MBT) created the Green Apple Award for Financial Literacy to recognize the exemplary efforts of MBT employees and members of the community in delivering critical financial literacy education. Each year, MBT will present the Green Apple Award to individuals and organizations that have shown exceptional innovation, dedication and commitment to the field of financial literacy education. 



SCHOOL

EXTERNAL AWARD CATEGORY 

This award will be presented to a public, private or home-schooled, K-higher education system who exhibit the following:

 

  • High percentage of students enrolled in MBT Financial Education programs.
  • School supports the MBT Financial Education program(s). Support includes: promotion by flyers, in newsletters, school social media, etc., administrator support, participation in Financial Literacy Month, and or sharing social media posts regarding financial literacy on the internet and the schools respective channels.
  • Inspires students of all backgrounds to learn.

COMMUNITY

EXTERNAL AWARD CATEGORY 

This award will be presented to a business, civic or service club, religious organization or non-profit organization that has done the following:

 

  • Initiate request of MBT Financial Literacy education.
  • A presentation resulted in classes being taught at the club or at a member's business or organization.
  • The organization shares MBT”s financial literacy website pages and/or social media activity.

ADULT EDUCATION

EXTERNAL AWARD CATEGORY 

This award will be presented entities that are primarily engaged in traditional adult education or adult retraining such as school district adult education programs, Michigan Works, GED completion programs and will be considered for the following.

 

  • Number of MBTeach sessions taught throughout the year.
  • Support and engagement of site administrators / instructors.
  • Have site administrators or instructors promoted MBTeach to other organizations resulting in classes?
  • Has the organization earned the respect and admiration of their community?

 

The above criteria are meant to be used as guidelines for all entries. Nominees in all categories will be judged upon relevance to the criteria and individual merits. Award entries will be reviewed by a committee of judges appointed by Monroe Bank & Trust.
Monroe Bank & Trust reserves the right to refrain from offering an award in any category in any given year. The decision of the judges is final. There is no limit to the number of submissions provided they fit the criteria.
