If you have opened the email or clicked on any link in the email, DO THE FOLLOWING:
Update your anti-virus software and then run a full anti-virus scan (McAfee, Symantec, etc).
Obtain a free spyware removal program from the Internet (Spybot, S&D, MalwareBytes, Adaware, etc). While MBT does not endorse any particular spyware removal program, these are generally accepted as safe and effective.
Run the Spyware removal application (follow the manufacturer’s directions).
Clear your browser cache (on toolbar go to TOOLS and delete Browsing History).
Once these are completed, change your electronic banking passwords. This step is crucial to keep Spyware programs and fraudsters from accessing your account(s).
If you have questions or notice unauthorized activity on any of your MBT accounts, CONTACT THE MBT CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER IMMEDIATELY AT 800-321-0032.
This is not an MBT-specific attack nor was it caused by any breach or misuse of MBT systems. The Virus reads your browsing history and customizes a pop-up to make it seem credible (the “Attention Mbandt.com Visitor” greeting).
