Employees Now Linked In Service Together
"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can." John Wesley
ENLIST is a volunteer service organization composed of MBT employees. Over 82% of the Bank’s 430-plus employees are members, making ENLIST one of the nation’s premier models of corporate-employee volunteerism.

Established over 20 years ago, this unparalleled volunteer community outreach program provides support to over 200 southeast Michigan organizations annually in the form of manpower and event execution assistance. From large-scale events like The Monroe County Fair and the Downriver Roar on the River, to school fairs and banquets and community fairs and festivals, ENLIST volunteers park cars, take tickets, serve hot meals to seniors, manage auctions and raffles, entertain physically and learning challenged children, and help with just about everything else imaginable for charitable or community organizations requiring manpower. Clad in their familiar “MBT Green” ENLIST shirts, members are a welcome and familiar sight in their Downriver and Monroe-area communities, as they help solve manpower and execution challenges for area organizations.
Since inception, over 120,000 man hours have been contributed to organizations ranging from schools to hospices to medical centers to shelters. Because ENLIST supports community organizations almost every day of the year, the Bank employs a full-time ENLIST Coordinator to manage the day to day operations. This illustrates Monroe Bank and Trust’s total commitment to community support. After all, our motto is “Community Service from Your Community Bank”.
ENLIST also selects a major, bank-wide fundraiser to benefit a charitable organization voted on by the ENLIST Board of Directors. Funds are raised thro ugh a yearlong series of events including car washes, cookie dough sales, “jean days” where employees pay for the opportunity to wear jeans to work, and numerous other internal and external events. These large-scope projects have included the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, Gabby’s Ladder (a Monroe County-based family grief support organization) and the Penrickton Center for Blind Children in Taylor.
“MBT is incredibly proud of what we have achieved with the ENLIST program over the years” said MBT CEO Doug Chaffin. “The willingness of our employees to offer this level of commitment to volunteerism is a true testament to the quality of the individuals who work here, and their enthusiastic desire to excel in both customer service during work hours and service to humanity during their personal time.”
MBT ENLIST Coordinator Erika Hunt manages all aspects of the program and may be contacted by non-profit organizations that require assistance from volunteers. She may be reached at (734) 384-8267, or by email at erika.hunt@mbandt.com for additional information.
